Ag burning possible in Skagit County this summer, fall

Jul. 21, 2021

July 21, 2021

The Governor’s July 6 state of emergency proclamation allows agricultural burning permits to be issued as determined by local fire officials and air quality authorities.

NWCAA and the Skagit County Fire Marshal’s Office will allow limited agricultural burning this summer and fall under very specific conditions, depending on air quality and fire safety assessments.

Any burning sites will be inspected by the Fire Marshal’s Office to make sure safety requirements are met.

If burning results in air quality impacts or poses too great of a fire danger threat, the burning project will be stopped. Contact NWCAA at 360-428-1617 if smoke impacts air quality where you live. In case of fire danger, call 9-1-1 so local fire officials can be notified.
