Construction permits: We issue permits for construction and operation of processes that emit air pollution. We call these “construction permits”.
Air Operating Permits: Some facilities that emit larger amounts of air pollution must obtain “Air Operating Permits”, or “AOPs”. These are in addition to construction permits. AOPs organize all of the facility’s construction permits plus federal, state, and local air pollution regulations into one document.
Registration: Facilities that emit air pollution, including all facilities with construction permits, must register with NWCAA and pay annual registration fees. These fees pay, in part, for NWCAA inspectors to conduct inspections to verify compliance with permits and regulations.
If you’re unsure if you need a permit or need to register, please contact us.
